Good News for smaller agencies about the NAC Application Fee Structure
In consideration of economic times, on June 13, 2009, the National Accreditation Council for Blind and Low Vision Services (NAC) Board of Directors has amended its long standing application fees schedule.
Commencing with all invoices dated June 2009 and beyond, all organizations under a $300,000 annual operating budget will be in invoiced the one-time amount of $100 to cover the cost of A) the application fee and B) the copy of the copyrighted NAC Standards/Self assessment manual.
The fees schedule for agencies with budgets over $300K is as follows:
A) The general NAC application fee is a one-time, non-refundable charge of $400.
B) The cost of the NAC Standards/Self Assessment document in CD format (or print copy) is $120 to applicants and $400 to other requests where the accreditation process is not anticipated.
C) The annual NAC membership fee following accreditation is one-tenth of one percent (0. 01%) of the annual operating budget (excluding capital and material costs budgeted in an industrial operation program) but assessed within the range of a minimum $300 to a maximum of $3,000.
The annual membership fee, C) outlined above remains unchanged at this time.
It is a NAC standing policy that the accreditation peer professionals performing the on-site review contribute their time, efforts and expertise without charge. The cost of travel, lodging and meals are reimbursed by the agency being visited by the reviewer(s).
